Eagle friends soar through ceremony

Not long ago, two young men, who met through scouting, achieved the pinnacle rank in Boy Scouts when both were awarded Eagle status.  Lukas Love and Nate Shepherd met as young boys through the Boy Scout program at Troop 75 in Peachtree City.  Their Eagle ceremony took place at First Baptist Church Peachtree City.  Mayor Don Haddix made a special presentation to the boys and Pastor Jim Garner delivered a charge for the boys to continue on their quest to be “physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.”  Scoutmasters Greg Quandt, Bill Gray, and Scott Ash also spoke.

An accomplished competitive swimmer and photographer, Lukas Love graduated from McIntosh High School and was heavily sought after by the United States Navy for its air crew training program.

Lukas’ awards and recognition made him a worthy candidate for leadership in service to our country.

Nate Shepherd, a senior at Starr’s Mill High School, recently served as a Congressional Page for Lynn Westmoreland in Washington, D. C.  Nate serves on the Principal’s Student Advisory Board at Starr’s Mill and was an Honor graduate at Boys State this summer.
