Alexander Joseph Topp, Jr., 93, of Northbrook, Illinois and Peachtree City, GA, passed away September 12, 2010.
He graduated from Amundson High School and then achieved a degree in accounting from DePaul University in Chicago , Illinois. He had a distinguished career with Kraft, Inc and Red Kap Garment Co. Mr. Topp was the former president of the Northbrook Illinois Park District and was instrumental in the building of Northbrook Sports Complex Ice Arena. He was Man of the Year in Northbrook because of his very active involvement in civic affairs. He was also listed in the Who’s Who of the Midwest and Southeast United States .
Mr. Topp was the beloved husband of the late Anne Irene Patterson Topp. He was a very loving father and is survived by his sons, Alexander Joseph Topp, III & his wife Frances of Sarasota, FL and Terrence P. Topp & his wife Margaret of Peachtree City, GA; cherished grandchildren Alexander IV, Michael, Patrick and Molly.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Carl J. Mowell & Son, Peachtree City, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 101 Walt Banks Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269 .
