Richard Max Boyer, 70, of Fayetteville, died September 5, 2010 after a long battle with lung cancer.
He was born in West Chester, PA on December 9, 1939. Richard spent 3 years in the Navy and 32 years as an Air Traffic Controller. Richard had assignments in Massachusetts , Virginia, Georgia and Hawaii.
He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Louise Boyer and his sister Ruth Ann Jackson.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Carol Ellen Duncan Boyer; sons Gary (Robyn) Boyer of Fayetteville and Chris (Gloria) Boyer of Brooks; grandchildren Brett Boyer of Brooks and Lawson Boyer of Fayetteville; cousins Ted (Liz) Shumake of Sharpsburg and Nancy (Walter) Hurst of Millersville, PA; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Fayetteville Christian Church. A receiving of friends will take place prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:45 PM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fayette Samaritans, Southwest Christian Care Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
