Fayette County licensed-Zumba Instructor, Kareen Underwood, has organized a super-event tying in two personal things that mean the world to her: her love for Zumba and for helping others.
Ditch the workout and join the party! Join Kareen and the Zumba Crew for a fabulous evening of fitness and fun this Friday, Sept. 10 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Brooks Elementary School gym (located at 119 Price Rd, Brooks) for a Zumbathon to raise money for Relay For Life. Zumba Fitness is a super fun way to get your exercise and is great for people of all ages, shapes and fitness levels. Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms, great music and easy to follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will keep you coming back for more. If you are already a Zumba-fanatic or have always wondered what Zumba was all about and wanted to give it a try, this is a great opportunity for you to check it out while also raising money for a great cause. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Relay For Life 2011. Tickets are $10 in advance (if purchased by Sept. 8) and $15 at the door. Underwood has been a certified Zumba instructor in Fayette county since June 2009. She currently teaches classes at all three Fayette county World Gym locations, as well as hosting Zumba parties and other Zumba events.
“When I found Zumba, or perhaps Zumba found me, I knew I had to become licensed. I’m not sure who has more fun in my Zumba classes, the participants or me,” Underwood said. “One thing is for sure…it is exercise in disguise.”
