Members of Carriage Lane Prebyterian Church, PCA, in Peachtree City, celebrated the Rev. Dr. W. Douglas Griffith’s 20th anniversary as their senior pastor on Sunday, August 15. Griffith and his wife, Cindy, were surprised at the morning worship service by guest preacher and friend, the Rev. Dr. Jon Payne and visiting family members. A special church luncheon followed the service.

Griffith, his wife, Cindy, and three children, Katie, Mary, and Luke, came to Peachtree City in August of 1990. Griffith was the organizing pastor of Calvary Presbyterian Church, which later changed its name to Carriage Lane Presbyterian when the church moved to its present location at 101 Carriage Lane.

“The long-term pastorate is very unique these days, Griffith said. “My family and I have been very blessed to be a part of such a loving church family. This is a very unique and blessed church. It has been a great privilege to serve the Lord alongside of them; they love God’s Word and the gospel, love each other, have heart for the needs of the community and world, and seek to preserve the peace and unity of the church. Lord willing, I look forward to many more years in partnership with them.”

Carriage Lane has experienced healthy and steady growth over the years, and has a communing membership of over 500. Sunday morning worship is at 11 a.m. There are ministry programs for all ages. For more information visit the church website, www.carriagelanepres.org.
