Senoia Police reported that a Waverly Hall woman was listed in serious but stable condition after her vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer Thursday morning at the intersection of Ga. Highway 85 and Ga. Highway 16.

Though all details are not yet available, Senoia Police spokesman Steve Tomlin said the accident occurred at 9:29 a.m. when the unidentified driver of a 2009 Kenworth tractor-trailer failed to yield the right of way at the intersection, striking Waverly Hall resident Selina Blake.

Tomlin said the tractor-trailer was southbound on Hwy. 85 and began turning left onto Hwy. 16. Blake was headed north on Hwy. 85 driving a 1997 Acura, Tomlin said. The semi essentially turned into Blake’s vehicle, Tomlin said.

“The tractor-trailer actually climbed on top of her car,” Tomlin said, adding that the Acura was severely damaged from the impact. “She was very, very lucky that she wasn’t killed.”

Blake was flown by helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital where she was listed Thursday in serious but stable condition, Tomlin said.

Tomlin said the accident is under investigation and charges are pending.
