All Saints Anglican Church in Peachtree City wrapped up its third annual Summer Music Camp 16 July as 100 children received certificates of completion from the the Rev. Michael Fry, rector.

Parents and staff enjoyed an end-of-camp musical finale by the participants, ages 5-12. Music director Shannon Bryan led the children in songs they had learned including: “Praise To The Lord, The Almighty,” and “All Creatures Of Our God and King.” Several children recited Bible verses and others accompanied songs with “praise-dancing.“

Bryan had spearheaded the week-long potpourri of music, dancing, and instruction with the help of several guest musicians including Jeff Shephard, professional guitarist and teacher. Another guest, Joel Haasenritter, pianist and piano expert, explained the workings of the piano.

A number of church volunteers supervised the children as they were introduced to a variety of other instruments including the trumpet, flute, harp, violin, keyboard, and drum set.

The children rotated between various “labs,” each of which featured a specific instrument. In the labs, the children learned how each instrument functioned and learned to identify its components.

Those attending were also invited to take part in a ministry for the needy by donating non-perishable food items.

During break-times fruit and vegetable snacks were available.

The camp was staged on the church grounds at 225 South Peachtree Parkway.
