The Newnan Cultural Arts Commission (NCAC) has announced the date of the Wadsworth & Friends Concert set for Saturday, March 6 at 7:30 pm at Newnan’s Wadsworth Auditorium.
The planned concert will be the 18th concert hosted by native son Charles Wadsworth, who was first featured here in 1993 and, before and since, gained worldwide acclaim for his talents and hosting skills. Last year’s virtual sellout Wadsworth & Friends Concert celebrated the home town piano artist’s 80th birthday at which he announced his retirement from the international circuit of concerts and programs at which he has been featured during his long and much heralded career.
Tickets for the concert will be available, effective February 5th at Scott’s Book Store on the Courthouse Square, Morgans Jewelers at Ashley Park, and Bank of Coweta at Thomas Crossroads and are budget priced at $20. for adults and $15. for students and seniors.
Joining Wadsworth on stage will be two of our nation’s most talented musicians: cellist Kristina Reiko Cooper and pianist Stephen Prutsman.
Kristina Reiko Cooper has won widespread acclaim for her musical versatility, her virtuosity, her charismatic stage presence and her passionate intensity. She received her bachelors and masters degrees in music and her doctorate of musical arts from The Juilliard School in New York City.
Hailed as “one of the finest American pianists of his generation,” Stephen Prutsman is one of the most versatile and brilliant pianists of today. A former student of Aube Tzerko and Leon Fleisher, Stephen Prutsman studied at the University of California at Los Angeles and the Peabody Conservatory of Music.
