The City of Newnan Fire Department honors its firefighters with their Annual Life Saver Award for 2009. The recipients of this award have saved a life while on duty in 2009. There were nine firefighters this year who accomplished this goal with three lives saved.

Chief Whitley has been giving this award out for the past 6 years. According to Chief Whitley, “the award is a great honor for the firefighters and the City of Newnan Fire Department, as we are here to save lives.”
To receive this honor the firefighter would have brought a victim back from unconsciousness with no pulse and heartbeat by using C.P.R. or with the use of automatic external defibrillators.

The following are the Life Saver Award 2009 recipients:
• Lt. Denise Freeman
• Driver Engineer Johnny Minix
• Firefighter Ed Bryant
• Firefighter Daniell Albertson
• Driver Engineer Damon Rosser
• Firefighter Tim Cox
• Firefighter Clinton Gilley
• Firefighter Randy Stone
• Firefighter Jeremy Henson
• Firefighter Cornell Rollins
