Julie Renée McGowan

Julie Renée McGowan, 48, Fayetteville, died Dec. 1, 2009 after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Bernie Williams. She was originally from Jacksonville, Fla., where she was graduated from Victory Christian Academy High School in 1979. She also attended Florida Junior College. Services were at New Hope Baptist Church, South Campus, with the Rev. Hugh Kirby officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include her husband, Ray McGowan, Fayetteville; daughters, Lacey Renée McGowan and Holley Rae McGowan, both of Fayetteville; mother, Cindy Williams Derringer, Branford, Fla.; and sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Phil Brown, Concord, Ga. Memorial donations may be made to Relay for Life, 301 Kelly Dr., Ste. 3, Peachtree City, GA 30269. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
