All-Region soccer teams are announced

Eight of the 16 players on the Region 4-AAAAA girls soccer All-Region team for this season are from two Fayette schools.

Five players from Starr’s Mill made the team: Paige Betsill, Molly Moroney, Dylan Patterson, Carly Pressgrove and Lauren Yoss.

They were joined by three members of the McIntosh squad: Amy Brewer, Taylor Dowse and Cecily Hartman.

Northgate also had three players: Lily Barron, Ashley Keller and Hayli Verbanic. Two each from Ola and Union Grove, along with one player from Forest Park, rounded out the list.

In the A classification, the 18-member All-Area team from Area 4 included six members of the team from Our Lady of Mercy: Sabrina Gaitan, Nahyo Jalajel, Sydney Jones, Meghan Lowther, Sarah McBride and Katie Wilczynski.

Four other members of the squad are from Landmark: Rebekah Gravitt, Mckenzie Harris, Sophie Riggs and Morgan McWilliams.

The All-Area girls’ team included five players from ELCA and three from Strong Rock.

Six OLM players also made the boys’ All-Area lineup: Minh Bui, Dylan Eckert, Jacob Kulwicki, Gabe Ryce, Nick Wells and Jesus Zenteno.

Landmark players on the team include Joey Blount, Aaron Burtz, Gaines Coker, Spencer Geerlings and Austin Luckie.

Players from ELCA and Strong Rock rounded out the list.
