Fayetteville police are investigating a Jan. 23 armed robbery at a business at the Fayette Pavilion on Ga. Highway 85 North. There were no injuries in the robbery.
Officers on Jan. 23 at approximately 1 p.m. were dispatched to the City Gear store on Pavilion Parkway in reference to an armed robbery in progress, said Fayetteville Police Department spokesperson Ann Marie Burdett. The store sells athletic shoes and clothing.
“Police arrived and met with the complainant, a City Gear employee, who said an unidentified black male came into the store and pointed a firearm at them, demanding cash from the register,” Burdett said.
Burdett noted that the manager responded to the demand by coming to the front of the store and opening the cash register.
“The [robber] came around the counter and retrieved cash from the register,” Burdett said. “The [robber] fled from the store on foot in an unknown direction.”
The store employees described the robber as a black male, who wore a black hoodie with white writing on the front, a blue face mask, black shoes, a gray beanie, blue pants and wore black gloves on his hands, Burdett reported.
There were no injuries from the incident, Burdett added.
Hummm…let me see here …all the observations imply that the perf was ” a black male, who wore a black hoodie with white writing on the front, etc”
SOP..”.Standard Operating Procedure ” attire for every black robber.
That’s a tough one to track down.
Fayette Co. should insist Clayton Co. annex the Fayette Pavilion.
