Four Fayette County schools rank among the top Title I schools in the state, earning honors from the Georgia Department of Education.

To reward schools for significant progress in improving student achievement or in closing the achievement gap, GaDOE honors K–12 Title I schools through an awards program. The Title I Achievement Awards program recognizes and honors two categories of schools: Title I Distinguished Schools and Title I Reward Schools.

North Fayette Elementary, Bennett’s Mill Middle, and Flat Rock Middle are Title I Distinguished Schools.

A Title I Distinguished School is among the top 5 percent school-wide and top 5 percent Targeted Assisted Title I schools in the state that have the highest absolute performance for the all-students group based on the current statewide assessment.

Fayetteville Elementary is a Title I Reward School.

A Title I Reward School is among the top 5 percent of Title I schools in the state that is making the most progress in improving the performance of the all-students group over the most recent two years on the statewide assessments.
