Peachtree City History Timeline, hurricane preparedness, security alarm registration, and more . . .

Help Make History in Peachtree City!
A committee of local volunteers is working to develop a History Time Line for Peachtree City’s municipal plaza surrounding the fountain. This month, the group held two meetings to explain the project, which consists of an in-ground timeline with each year marked and bronze plaques noting major accomplishments and events during the City’s first 50 years. The History Time Line will begin at a Founders’ Corner closest to the entrance to the plaza, and mark a full 100 years ending at the corner nearest the entrance to the Library, where there will be a place for a Centennial Corner to celebrate Peachtree City’s 100th Anniversary in 2059. The goal of the project is to provide a physical location that will let residents reflect on our past, document our history, and inspire our successors who visit the plaza.

The committee is looking for additional volunteers to help guide the project during construction and into the future, and for donations to fund the project. The committee has raised $35,500 in donations toward the $65,000 cost, leaving $29,500 outstanding. Donations have ranged from $25 to $10,000 (thank you Peachtree City Rotary Club!), and the remaining amount is approximately $2 per household. Residents, businesses, and organizations who would like contribute time, knowledge, and/or funds to this unique project can learn more at www.peachtree-city.org/timeline.

Do you have a unique golf cart?

Security Alarm Registration Underway as part of new False Alarm Ordinance

Under Peachtree City’s new ordinance, anyone with a burglar alarm system must register the system.
