No symptoms, no problem: State opens Covid-19 testing to everybody

But you have to make an appointment with testing center first; numbers below — 

“Right now, we have more than sixty testing sites with more supply than demand,” Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp said last week. He encouraged anybody who wants a test to get one.

“In accordance with new CDC guidance, the Department of Public Health and district offices are now encouraging all Georgians — even if they are not experiencing symptoms — to schedule an appointment with their healthcare provider, local health department, or get a screening through the AU Health ExpressCare app,” Kemp said last week.

“Individuals wanting to be tested can contact any Georgia public health department to schedule an appointment at a SPOC location convenient to them. Contact information for local health departments can be found on the DPH homepage at dph.georgia.gov/,” the state Department of Public Health said in a news release.

The direct patient phone line for folks in Fayette and Coweta counties to make appointments for testing is 800-847-4262. That gets you to District 4 Health District in LaGrange, which can make an appointment for you.

Here are some testing sites available nearby:

• Coweta County Fairgrounds, 275 Pine Rd., Newnan, southest of the city off U.S. Highway 27 (Alt>) near the intersections of Ga. Highway 16 and Interstate 85 South. They are closed Sundays, but open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon. For an appointment, call 800-847-4262.
