A June 25 incident at the Tinseltown Theater at the Fayette Pavilion left a man essentially uninjured after an attack that occurred after he left the theater.

The victim told officers he left the theater at approximately 10 p.m. and was texting on his cell phone while walking to his vehicle, said Fayetteville Police spokesperson Debbie Chambers.

At one point someone came up from behind the man, spun him around and began hitting him, reports said. The victim was then hit in the back of the head by a second assailant with what he believed was a metal pipe, said Chambers. The victim did not sustain significant injuries, Chambers added.

Chambers said the victim was unable to provide a description of his attackers except to say that they wore dark hoodies.

The man reported that nothing was stolen during the attack.

Police also reported a residential burglary in Fayetteville that occurred June 26.

A Stratford Way resident arrived at her home during the evening hours, entering the house through the garage. She discovered that the front door had been kicked in, Chambers said.

Chambers said it appeared that two rooms had been the subject of the entry and a number of items were initially discovered missing. Those items included jewelry, credit cards and a suitcase, said Chambers.
