Flat Stanley Visits Peachtree City!
Ezequiel, a third grader from Bakersfield, California, has sent his friend, Flat Stanley, to visit Peachtree City and learn about our community. We are taking some photos of him at City Hall and some of the City’s parks and facilities, but would also love to include additional pictures of Peachtree City residents enjoying our community. If you have a nice picture of your family doing something they love in Peachtree City, or even in Atlanta, and would like to include it in the Peachtree City Welcomes Flat Stanley packet that will be mailed and posted on the City web site, please email it to Betsy Tyler at info@peachtree-city.org. Please include your family’s last name, how long you have lived here, where you moved from, and what you are doing in the picture. More information on the Flat Stanley Project is available at http://www.flatstanley.com/about.php?nav=about.

Are you Work Ready?
Although Peachtree City has weathered the economy better than most of Metro Atlanta, we do have friends and neighbors looking for jobs. Fayette County has joined the Georgia Work Ready program, and for a limited time, any adult Fayette County resident who is not a high school student and achieves Georgia Work Ready Certification is eligible for a one time gas card (Bronze Certificate $10, Silver $20, Gold $30, or Platinum $40). Assess your work skills and become work ready through Southern Crescent Technical College. Visit www.gaworkready.org or call 770-228-7364.
The Fayette County Development Authority and the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce also post local job opportunities. Learn more at www.fayettega.org/jobs/1 and www.fayettechamber.org/chamber-master/jobs/.
