By now the wrapping paper, boxes and most of the Christmas detritus have left the home.
Except for the Christmas tree, of course. To solve that dilemma, local volunteers and Peachtree City will accept Christmas trees for recycling Saturday, Jan. 9 at several locations between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The locations include the Rockaway Road Recycling Center, the Peachtree City Home Depot and behind the Kedron Village shopping center.
The trees will be mulched for free by city crews, members of Keep Peachtree City Beautiful and local volunteers. Participants will receive a free dogwood seedling while supplies last.
Trees brought for recycling should be free of all lights, ornaments and tinsel.
Those who don’t want to wait until Jan. 9 can bring their defrocked tree to the Rockaway Road Recycling Center for mulching. The Rockaway Road Recycling Center is open Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.
The free seedlings will only be available for the Jan. 9 event.
