David Philip Langley, age 67, of Fayetteville, died Saturday evening at a local hospital following a brief illness.

A native of Chicago, Ill., Mr. Langley was born on July 10, 1950, the son of the late Maurice Edward and Patricia Mary Hoss Langley. Mr. Langley was a 1978 graduate of University of Georgia where he earned his degree in pharmaceuticals and became a licensed pharmacist working with CVS, Wal-Mart, and Drug Emporium. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a devoted communicant of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was married on May 5, 1973 to the former Connie Denise King who survives.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Denise K. Langley; two sons, Christopher & Sarah Langley and Matthew & Jamye Langley; one daughter, Amanda Langley; one sister, Susan Banta, along with his four grandchildren, Julia, Elizabeth, Abigail and Andrew.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, with Father Richard Vu officiating. Interment  followed at Camp Memorial Gardens, with the United States Navy rendering military honors. The family received friends at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday evening, with a rosary prayer service beginning at 7 p.m..

The family lovingly requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
