Betty “Mac” McDaniel, 100, of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away peacefully on August 1, 2017.
Mac was born in Banks County, Ga. on March 1, 1917 to Mattie and Buford Ariail and had one brother Elmer Ariail. She married Robert McDaniel on July 21, 1934; they were married for 59 years. Mac spent her entire life devoted to her family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, sewing, crafts, reading and music.
Mac was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McDaniel and daughter, Shelley Arthus.
She is survived by her two children, Toni Briscoe and husband Larry of Locust Grove, Ga. and Michael McDaniel and wife Kate of Cincinnati, Ohio. Mac leaves behind nine grandchildren: Mike McDaniel, Kelli McDaniel, Kim VanStavern and husband Eddie, Tina Eckel and husband Bill, David Briscoe, Maria Heard and husband Mark, Emily Williams and husband Sam, Matt McDaniel and wife Ashley, and Kyle McDaniel. Mac also leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren: Aubrey McDaniel, Ede McDaniel, Taylor VanStavern, Justin Heard, Lindsey Eckel, Cameron VanStavern, Megan Heard, Lauren Eckel, Brandon Heard, Natalie Heard, Brady Williams, Ariel McDaniel, Ryan Williams and Alice McDaniel.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Dr. Jim Thomas officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at Sherwood Memorial Park, Jonesboro. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. -12 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
