Writer ignores ugliness at other marches

Firstly, permit me to congratulate you on having Bonnie Willis as a regular contributor. Her wholesome, common-sense, insightful and balanced views are a joy and inspiration to read. She is the equal of any nationally published columnist – and I peruse many.

An open letter to Irene Cheyne:

Congratulations on your peaceful Atlanta march, which was perfectly acceptable, provided that you did not block public highways and prevent other citizens from going about their lawful business, catching planes, keeping medical appointments, etc.

However, Bonnie Willis was referring to the marches around the country filled with hate-filled rants and posters of unparalleled vulgarity and spotlighting the idiotic performances of Madonna and Ashley Judd, which even embarrassed their own people. You conveniently totally ignored all of this.

A review of your profile seems to indicate that your raison d’etre is as an activist protester, always looking for something to complain about or someone to belittle. You do not sound like a happy person given such negativity. Try looking at a glass as half-full instead of half-empty.

Finally, you ask Bonnie for her reaction to the Muslim ban (completely false, as it applies to all people from just seven countries which Obama himself described as chaotic, and then only requires temporary increased scrutiny); Ms. DeVos (an extremely intelligent lady who provides a much-needed new approach to our long-standing disastrous public education system – we are between 21st and 25th in world rankings. And who was physically prevented from entering a school and verbally abused by a cowardly crowd); and kindly give Jeff Sessions a chance. He has barely had time to get his feet under the table.

You classify Trump as a dictator. I don’t think you have the vaguest notion of what a dictator really is. I lived in England throughout WWII so I can enlighten you. Hitler and Mussolini were dictators.
