Frances Day passed away peacefully at home in Fayetteville, Ga. (formerly of Indianapolis, Ind.) on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at the age of 89. She was born on July 22, 1927 to the late Jean Stroube Wiest and Donald E. Wiest of Fort Smith, Ark.
Throughout her life she was a homemaker, taking care of their six children and actively helped her husband, Bill, run their Day Insurance Agency.
Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert William Day; son-in-law, Ed Hoyt; granddaughter, Tina Hoyt Bledsoe; and grandsons, Troy Hoyt, Bradley Day, and Jason Gammon.
She is survived by Catherine Hoyt of Fayetteville, Ga., Francie and Scott Pollack, Bill and Debbie Day, Donna and Bill Whitten, Melinda Gammon, Yancey Day and Valerie, all of Indianapolis, Ind.; eighteen grandchildren, along with many great and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Gail Ann Rogers of St. Louis, Mo. and two nieces.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 4 – 6 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home in Peachtree City, Ga. Frances will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in her hometown of Indianapolis, Ind.
She was an angel on this earth to everyone who knew and loved her. God needed another angel.
