The Taste of Senoia is back this Sunday, August 21, 1-4 p.m.
The Senoia Optimist Club will sponsor a delicious sampling of the best Senoia has in food and more Tickets are $1 each and will be sold Sunday at three locations on Main Street: right outside of City Hall, inside the Masonic Lodge and beside Table Talk.
Food selections will be priced by the offering restaurants, with samples starting at just one ticket per sample. Restaurants participating on Main Street include Katie Lou’s, The Tomato House, The Dawg House, The Waking Dead Café, Senoia Coffee & Cafe, and Coffee by David.
This year you will be able to visit these restaurants at their locations to purchase your taste. Numerous Senoia restaurants that are not physically located on Main Street will also participate and will have tables set up inside the Masonic Lodge for your tasting pleasure. In addition, new Main Street restaurant Nic & Norman’s will be participating but will be set up in the Masonic Lodge.
Another continuing tradition is a local merchant raffle with items from almost every Senoia business. Many of the shops on Main Street have collection jars with their item displayed, and you can already purchase raffle tickets at these shops for $1 each. The more tickets you buy, the better your chance of taking home a wonderful item such as an amazing gift basket, gift certificate, etc.
There will also be tables in the Masonic Lodge with raffle items ready for your bidding Sunday during the Taste of Senoia. You do not have to be present to win, but be sure to put your name and phone number on the back of the tickets you place in the various jars. In between buying “tastes” and raffle tickets, the Senoia Buggy Museum on Main Street is also planning to be open for this special day.
In addition to regular downtown parking, you can park in the lot across from Sam’s Eclectic Collection and at the Senoia United Methodist Church, where golf cart shuttles will deliver you to a ticket table. This year, in addition to cash the Optimists will accept credit or debit cards at two of the available ticket tables.
The Optimist Club of Senoia plans, organizes, and runs the event every year to help it be an even better “Friend of Youth.” During the year, this active club serves Senoia and surrounding areas as a civic organization that focuses on serving youth as well as the area communities.
The Senoia Optimists provide scholarships and student recognition, offer essay and oratorical contests to local youth, and partner with other local charities in various ways including providing food, clothes and Christmas gifts for those less fortunate. This year, the local Optimist Club is providing inclusive swings for the newly redesigned city playground on Seavy Street, as well as updating the swings and chains to make them all safe for our children.
