The Coweta Fayette Rotary Club will host Coweta County Probate Judge Mary Cranford as its guest speaker Monday, May 2, at 6:30 p.m. at Senoia Coffee and Cafe, 1 Main Street in Senoia.
Judge Cranford began her career with Coweta County in 1974 as a part-time probate clerk. She was hired full-time in 1980 and was promoted to chief clerk by Judge C.B. McKoy. With the endorsement of McKoy, she launched her inaugural campaign for probate judge in 1984 and was elected as the first female judge of Coweta County Probate Court.
Cranford has been a resident of Coweta County for the past 44 years. She has one daughter, Heather, who is a graduate of Newnan High School and the University of Georgia.
She is a member of Newnan Presbyterian Church. She is a lifetime member and past president of the Newnan Civitan Club. She is the current secretary/treasurer of the Fourth District Probate Judges Association and also served as secretary/treasurer of the Georgia Council of Probate Judges from 1997-2006.
