A $7.8 million contract for striping and pavement marking upgrades at various locations on I-85/SR 403 in Coweta, Fulton, Meriwether and Troup counties in west central Georgia was announced recently by the Georgia Department of Transportation, and the project is scheduled to be completed by Dec. 31 of this year.

This was one of 24 contracts awarded by the DOT for statewide projects totaling nearly $90 million. The projects were advertised for bids in January and awarded in early February. The listing includes 13 resurfacing projects valued at almost $46 million, and seven bridge projects valued at $32.5 million, including construction of four bridges that are funded from bonds appropriated by the 2015 General Assembly.

Details on awarded projects can be found through the Award Announcement Downloads link: www.bidx.com/ga/lettings. Information on schedules, lane closures and detours will be made available in advance of construction activities.
