The Flat Rock Middle School Symphonic Band was invited to perform at the Georgia State Capitol to entertain Gov. Nathan Deal, state legislators, and staff members.

The band played in the Capitol’s lobby Feb. 11 to a large and appreciative audience. Band director Matthew Price says the band performed at a high level, showcasing their many talents.

“The band received many comments about how there is no way that middle school students can produce such music! I am so proud of the way these young people represented our school, our community, and themselves,” said Price.

After the performance, Price and the students had an opportunity to meet Governor Nathan Deal along with state Rep. Virgil Fludd.
