The Whitewater Wildcats placed eight wrestlers at last weekend’s AAAA West Sectionals at Gilmer High School, with seven members of the squad finishing fifth or higher.

Jason Higgins took second place in the 113-pound weight class. He won three straight matches before falling in the finals to Jake Lee of Sandy Creek.

Greg Pasquarella came in second at 138. Michael Allen and James Teague were third in their respective weight class, while fourth place went to Jack Sultan and Musa Ali. Juan Harvey finished fifth and Drew Muncey was seventh.

The top eignt in each weight class from each sectional move on to this weekend’s state championships.
