Sandy Creek Named State Team of the Week

The state is taking notice of the Patriots. Following another dominant win over top competition, Sandy Creek High was named the AJC Varsity/Georgia High School Football Daily state Team of the Week.

The Patriots were honored for their 21-0 over Douglas County, the number 4-ranked team in Class 7A. They held the Tigers to under 70 yards of offense, the first time they had been shut out since 2018. In week 1, Sandy Creek beat Grayson, also a top-ranked Class 7A team at the time.

Jeff Gable with Georgia High School Football Daily, along with representatives from award sponsors BSN Sports and Siemens, visited the Patriots at practice and presented head coach Darius Smiley and the team with their Team of the Week plaque.
