0George Edward Hearne, Sr. (“Ed”), 84, of Fayetteville, passed away on July 8, 2015.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Eastern Airlines Retirement Club and an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Hearne and his parents, Cleveland and Mary Etta Hearne.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary and Larry McEver of Fairburn; his son, George “Eddie” Hearne of Jonesboro; his grandchildren, James and Susan McEver of Sharpsburg, John and Anna McEver of Aztec, New Mexico, and Jason McEver of Peachtree City; and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hearne’s funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel, with Pastor John McEver officiating. The burial followed the service at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville, Ga. The family received friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the funeral home.
