Barbara Sheets, 68, of Fayetteville

Barbara Sheets, 68, of Fayetteville, Ga., died Saturday, June 27, 2015.

Mrs. Sheets was retired from Georgia Power where she was a valued supervisor in Customer Service and was known as the “go to girl” for a solution. She participated in many law enforcement training exercises and mentored many grammar school children. Mrs. Sheets was given a special award by the FBI in the Atlanta child murder cases. She was predeceased by her sister, Sandra Hortman.

Mrs. Sheets is survived by her husband of forty years, Walter T. Sheets of Fayetteville, Ga.; son, David William Sheets of Rome, Ga.; grandson, Logan Robert Sheets of Rome, Ga.; nephews, Robby Brunel (Melanie) of Douglas, Ga. and Tommy Hortman (Annie) of Charleston, S.C.; niece, Susan Evans (Morgan) of Charleston, S.C.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery with the Reverend Joe Traynham officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Research Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 304, Chicago, Ill. 60611 or to an animal rescue group.
