Downtown Fayetteville will be the place to be this weekend with a series of Main Street events for the whole family.
At the Gazebo, residents can shop at an extended Market Day that runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
With over 80 vendors, it should be easy to find special and unique, handcrafted gifts to help get a head start on holiday shopping.
Joyce Waits, Main Street program manager, said that Market Days have been well received within the community.
“Many people this year have enjoyed shopping at Market Day where vendors have sold their homemade and homegrown products in record numbers. This will be the last Market Day of the year.”
That same weekend also hosts a long-standing tradition for kids of all ages. The Great Pumpkin Festival and Trick or Treat on Main Street will be a fun spectacle around the square as families come downtown to enjoy hay rides, train rides, face painting, games and sightseeing of the hundreds of decorated pumpkins that will be on display across the street at the Old Courthouse lawn throughout the week leading up to Halloween.
These activities will be interspersed between the Market Day vendors, and kids will be able to visit the vendor booths and downtown businesses for trick-or-treating from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m..
