Tyrone, Georgia — December 2025 — The Hedera Foundation (a private non-profit organization founded by the members of the Phi Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® for the purpose of  providing impactful educational assistance, social services and support programs to communities within Coweta & Fayette Counties) proudly concluded 2025 with meaningful impact that strengthened educational access, supported families, and advanced community stability across Coweta and Fayette counties. Among its year-end initiatives, the Hedera Foundation donated $1,000 in gift cards to the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Program within Fayette County Public Schools. The donation will support students experiencing housing instability by helping to meet essential needs that directly impact educational success.

Funds raised throughout the year supported a broad range of community initiatives, including Backpack Buddies, Bloom Closet, the CHIPP program and other programs aligned with the organization’s mission.

In addition to its community grants, the Hedera Foundation awarded over $30,000 in scholarships to college-bound students, helping to reduce financial barriers to higher education and support post-secondary achievement. Building on this momentum, the Hedera Foundation is preparing to launch an endowed scholarship program that will create sustainable, long-term support for future scholars.

“My excitement is building as we prepare to open our scholarship window in the spring and unveil our endowed scholarship program.” said Brenda Andrews, President and CEO of the Hedera Foundation. “These initiatives reflect our belief that strategic investments in education and basic needs can transform lives and strengthen communities for generations to come.”

Looking ahead to 2026, the Hedera Foundation remains committed to leveraging its fundraising success to deepen community impact, strengthen partnerships with schools and nonprofit organizations, and continue advancing opportunities for individuals and families across the communities it serves.
