GaDOE recognizes Math Leader schools

The Georgia Department of Education recognized 13 Fayette County schools for exceptional achievement or growth in mathematics with 2024-2025 Math Leader Awards. 

At the elementary level, Braelinn Elementary was honored for 5th Grade Gateway Growth. Cleveland Elementary was honored for 5th Grade Gateway Growth. Fayetteville Elementary was honored for 5th Grade Gateway Growth. Oak Grove Elementary was honored for 4th Grade Growth and 5th Grade Gateway Growth. Peachtree City Elementary was honored for 5th Grade Gateway Growth. Peeples Elementary was honored for 5th Grade Gateway Growth. Sara Harp Minter Elementary was honored for 4th Grade Growth and 5th Grade Gateway Growth. 

At the middle school level, Bennett’s Mill Middle was honored for High School Achievement. Flat Rock Middle was honored for High School Achievement. JC Booth Middle was honored for High School Outstanding Achievement. Rising Starr Middle was honored for 8th Grade Gateway Growth and High School Achievement. Whitewater Middle was honored for 7th Grade Growth; 8th Grade Gateway Growth; and High School Outstanding Achievement. 

At the high school level, Fayette County High was honored for High School Growth. 

A total of 479 schools met the qualifications to be recognized as Math Leaders. Math Leader qualifications are based on students achieving the Proficient Learner level or above on the Georgia Milestones mathematics assessments.
