Newnan, GA – Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation (YMMC) and DHL Supply Chain are progressing with studies, permitting, and filings that could lead to the construction of a new, state-of-the-art distribution facility on YMMC’s Newnan, Georgia campus. The proposed 784,700-square-foot facility, representing an estimated $60–90 million investment, would be solely dedicated to YMMC operations.

If approved, the new facility is expected to improve efficiency while also benefitting the community. Currently, freight traffic flows between YMMC’s main plant and off site distribution centers, contributing to congestion along Highway 34 and surrounding intersections. By potentially consolidating logistics operations on the YMMC campus, the facility could reduce truck traffic on local roads, easing congestion and improving safety – with no added cost to taxpayers.

“This opportunity is about more than logistics,” said Bob Brown, President of YMMC. “It’s about strengthening our supply chain while also being a good neighbor. We are working carefully through the necessary studies and permitting to ensure this project would benefit both Yamaha and the community for years to come.”

Key potential benefits of the DHL Supply Chain facility include:

• A dedicated, world-class logistics hub to support Yamaha’s manufacturing operations

• The reduced truck traffic on local roads by consolidating operations on campus

• Thoughtful site design to maintain the character of the surrounding area

• The project would invest in roadway improvements such as new turn lanes and upgraded intersections to improve traffic flow and safety

• Sustainable features including stormwater management systems, tree buffers, and pervious surfaces to reduce environmental impact

Pending successful completion of studies and required approvals, construction could begin as early as 2026, with operations potentially starting the first quarter of 2028.

“As North America’s leading contract logistics provider, DHL Supply Chain is committed to delivering integrated, end-to-end solutions that drive efficiency and resilience for our partners. We’re proud to collaborate with Yamaha on a project that not only enhances supply chain performance but also supports infrastructure improvements that benefit the Newnan community. Together, we’re building smarter, more sustainable logistics that enable long-term growth and shared success.,” said Dave Rumler, President of Automotive Engineering and Manufacturing at DHL Supply Chain North America.
