Angelina (Angie) Soldovere, 68, of Peachtree City, GA died peacefully with her family by her side on April 8, 2010 after a long battle with cancer.
She was a sweet, vibrant, and loving woman who cared for her family, her many loving friends, and beloved animals she brought into her home. Born July 21, 1941 and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Louis and Antoinette Portanova.
Married 42 years to the love of her life Frank, Angie — who we called “Me-Ma” — was a wonderful mom, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, daughter, grandmother and friend to many. She never met a stranger, never found a book she had not read or was not planning to read, and was never without a funny story she wanted to share with others. A smart, funny, and caring woman of mercy, she served as an inspiration to all those who loved her. She was telling funny jokes and stories even in her last few days.
In addition to being a great mom, she was also a loyal and dedicated employee for many years at the New York Telephone Co. and BF Saul insurance Co. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City, GA and always willing to offer care and assistance to those in need. Angie prided herself on always being well prepared for guests with delicious Italian specialties, a warm and hospitable home, and giggling laugh to share with all after dinner. An active volunteer at church, in her community, and to those in need, Angie followed the biblical practice of “Doing to others as you would have done to you.”
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank and father Louis, and survived by her mother, Antoinette Portanova, her three daughters Gina, Nikki and Krissy and their husbands Russell, Jay and Lee. She is also survived by her brother Louis Jr. and sisters in-law Rose Portanova and Patricia McNaney, nieces Lisa, Renee, and Nicole and her beloved grand children: Brendan, Lauren, Brianna, Brooke, Bridget, Claire, Olivia, and Ben.
Funeral Mass will be held Sunday April 11 at 3:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the CJ Mowell & Sons funeral home in Peachtree City, GA Saturday April 10 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
