Thomas L. Roan of Peachtree City, Ga., 89, passed away January 22, 2014.
He was born in Fulton County to Eva and Ernest Roan, July 18, 1924.
He is survived by Allene Smith Roan, wife; daughter, Kay Griffin; son, Tom Roan; daughter, Laura Brown; son, Tommy Malcolm; daughter, Pat Smith; son, Terry Malcolm; 46 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Roan was preceded in death by his wife, Billy Roan and daughter, Thurla Loggins.
He served honorably in the U.S.M.C during WWII, was a graduate of Russell High School (1946) and attended Georgia Tech until he was called to the ministry. Mr. Roan pastored several Baptist Churches in Clayton and Fulton County.
In the mid 1960’s, Mr. Roan received his MBA from Emory University and began a career in commercial real estate, serving as an executive at Fulton National Bank, Georgia Federal and president of Atlanta Real Estate Trust. After retirement, Mr. Roan, was an associate Chaplain at Piedmont Fayette Hospital from 2000 until 2008.
The memorial service celebration will be held Saturday, January 25th at 1 p.m. at Peachtree City United Methodist Church. Reception to follow at the church.
