GriefShare begins at Holy Trinity
Holy Trinity Catholic Church will offer GriefShare, a 13-week Christian video/discussion support group for those who are coping with the death of a loved one, either recently or from years past. Sessions will start on Jan. 8 and 10. The church offers an evening program on Wednesdays from 7-9 p.m. or a morning program on Fridays from 9:30-11:30 a.m in Room #103 in the Faith Formation building. GriefShare starts Jan. 9

Middle schoolers’ Blast Night set at COS
Melissa Jacobson, director of youth and family ministry at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City, announces Blast Night for middle-schoolers Saturday, Jan. 11, from 5:30-11 p.m. at the church. A fee of $10 covers the cost of dinner (served in a unique way), along with games and “lots of silliness,” according to Jacobson. To learn more, call 770-487-8717.

Bluegrass service planned at COS
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will offer a Bluegrass Service on Sunday, Jan. 12 at 10:50 a.m. The church’s “Second Sunday” band has selected and prepared the music. COS is on the corner of Ga. Hwy. 54 and Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree City. For more information, call 770-487-8717.

B’nai Israel plans King Day event
Congregation B’nai Israel will host an event honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  on Friday, Jan. 17, at 8 p.m. at the Congregation B’nai Israel Center in Fayette County. The guest speaker will be Lecia Brooks, director of the Civil Rights Memorial Center in Montgomery, Ala., and outreach director for the Southern Poverty Law Center, where she also headed up the Teaching Tolerance Program.  Refreshments will follow. B’nai Israel sponsors community dance
Congregation B’nai Israel will sponsor a “Swing to the ‘60s Dance Fundraiser” Saturday, Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tyrone Depot, 847 Senoia Rd. in Tyrone.
