The Westpark Walk retail center at the intersection of Ga. highways 54 and 74 in Peachtree City will soon receive a bit of a facelift that will feature a new stairway tower facing the intersection.

The sign plan approved unanimously July 22 by the city’s Planning Commission will add a stair tower element constructed of brick and aluminum louvers which will face the intersection that will contain a new sign and be a central architectural feature for the two-story building at Westpark Walk. The tower surrounding the stairway will be 29 feet in height.

The tower’s roof, along with the other rooftops in the retail center, will be painted a silver-gray color.

“Westpark Walk” will be featured prominently on the front of the tower facing the intersection.

Tenant signage will also see upcoming changes. The existing EFIS building material will be removed and replaced with aluminum louvers that will offset the louvered tower.

Project representatives said the monument sign along Hwy. 74 will undergo changes and will be consistent in color with those used in the retail center. The potential also exists for another monument sign to be erected along Hwy. 54.

Planning commissioners in April approved exterior building modifications, followed by approval of the landscaping plan in May. With the final plans now approved, Peachtree City Planning and Zoning Administrator David Rast said he expects work on the retail center to begin soon.
