0A bolt of lightning struck and damaged the steeple at First Baptist Church of Fayetteville Sunday as strong thunderstorms moved through the area. But worshippers gathered at the church afterwards and continued to use the building Sunday evening, according to John Munford, reporter for The Citizen. “We’re lucky it didn’t strike the courthouse where the art show was, or the county parking lot where they were doing Taste of Fayette at the time.,” Munford wrote.
