Mr. William “Bill” Carlis Butler of Fayetteville passed away Friday, March 8, 2013.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII. He was a volunteer at Southwest Christian hospice for many years and a longtime member of Southwest Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Butler of Fayetteville; daughters, Carla Queen and husband, Allen of Sharpsburg, Karen Armstrong and husband, Barry of Fayetteville, Kelly Stavely and husband, Fred of Sharpsburg; sisters, Anne Yarbrough and her husband, Don of Snellville, Martha Pelter of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Matt Queen and his wife, Kelley, Shan Queen and his wife, Jodi, Holli Hamby and her husband, Dan, Jamie Bowen and her husband, John, Joshua McCready, Garrett Stephens; 7 great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Monday, March 11, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Southwest Christian Church with remains placed in state at 1 p.m. Minster Craig Kingston and Minister James White officiated. Interment followed at Westminster Memorial Park.

The family received friends Sunday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home & Crematory, 770-964-4800.
