After a courageous battle with leukemia, Dennis Eugene Fricke of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the age of 58.

Dennis was born in a small town in Wisconsin. He was a graduate of La Crescent High School in Minn., and left the area in 1973.

He met his wife, Jan, on New Year’s Eve of 1973 in San Diego. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved football, basketball, going on cruises and was an exceptional pool player. Trained as a marine welder, Dennis spent a number of years in the shipyards in San Diego where he worked on such ships as the Kitty Hawk, Constitution and Ranger aircraft carriers. He and his family moved from California to Georgia in 1989 where he ended his career at Gardner Denver in Peachtree City.

He is survived by Jan, his loving wife of 37 years, his son Charles Fricke and his grandsons, Hayden and Landon Fricke. He is also survived by his father Merrill Fricke, mother Irma Fricke, brothers Randy and Glen Fricke, sister-in-law Joan Irvine, and many other dearly loved and wonderful family members and friends.

Dennis was cremated and his ashes will be scattered at sea. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, 135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City, Ga. with a memorial service on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 2 p.m., at the Chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley.
