At the Fayette Humane Society’s (FHS) Fore the Paws Charity Golf Tournament, presented in concert with Christian Swann Group, the word “FORE” is also a big shout-out to our furry “fore-legged” friends. You can expect to hear it on April 12, 2024, as approximately 150 golfers from around the state converge on Braelinn Golf Club in Peachtree City for the annual event.

With a four-person scramble format, the tournament will kick off with a Falcon RV Squadron flyover at 10:00 a.m. The cost is $150 per player and includes a cart and green fee, lunch, refreshments, a goody bag, commemorative digital photos and an awards presentation and raffle drawings with deejay entertainment and a tapas buffet. Of special note, there will also be appearances throughout the day by adoptable cats and dogs, as well as baby farm animals, including chicks, rabbits, goats and possibly llamas, to cheer on the players.

“This is a golf outing that speaks to the animal lover in us,” says Kimberly Castaneda, who co-chairs the event with FHS Board Member Penny Molis. “With our community’s generous ongoing support, we were able to raise over $29,000 last year, and we’re well on our way to selling out the event for a fourth straight year.”

As always, 100% of proceeds from the tournament will be used to fund the FHS spay and neuter program and to pay for the vaccinations and medical treatments of around 1,600 needy animals in foster care each year. Incorporated in 1973, FHS is the oldest nonprofit humane society in Fayette County, and it is staffed entirely by volunteers.

Not a golfer? Or interested in additional ways to support the event? Donations are currently being accepted for raffle prizes, and a variety of sponsorships are available from $250 to $2,000 that offer valuable exposure for businesses.
