Learn how you can make a difference in a student’s life. On Tuesday, January 24, the New Hope Baptist Church North Campus will host a discussion about how to become a mentor with Fayette County Public Schools.
At the info session, you will learn about the school system’s Friends Mentoring Program and how to get involved. The guest speakers are 8-time Mr. Olympia winner Lee Haney, Fayette County High Principal Yolanda Briggs-Johnson, and Fayette County Public Schools Friends Mentoring Program specialist Cora Davis.
The event is inspired by Al Mead, North Campus Pastor at New Hope Baptist Church, in an effort to build connections with schools to support students. The goal is to launch “Mentor Mondays” to give students a chance to pair up with professionals in their preferred careers.
The session will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. in the New Hope North Campus Student Center at 551 New Hope Road in Fayetteville.
