Rising Starr Middle School’s Christy Todd, the 2022 Fayette County Public Schools Teacher of the Year, has been selected to fly with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels as part of their “Key Influencer” program.

After being named the 2022 Fayette County Public Schools Teacher of the Year, Rising Starr Middle School’s Christy Todd has been selected to fly with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels as part of their “Key Influencer” program that honors deserving local people, Atlanta Air Show officials announced.

On Wednesday, November 2 at Falcon Field, Todd will get to experience the ride of her life in the backseat of an F/A-18 Super Hornet with Blue Angel 7, Lieutenant Commander Griffin Stangel, as her pilot.

During her 45-minute flight, Todd will experience rolls, loops, and turns like that of the best roller coaster ride imaginable.

“I could not be more excited,” said Todd after being selected to fly. “I am extremely honored to have been given this opportunity.”

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will headline the 2022 Atlanta Air Show, scheduled for November 5-6 at Falcon Field in Peachtree City. The show will also feature an A-10 Thunderbolt II Demo, the Navy Seals Leap Frogs, an Attack Helicopter Demo, the Full Throttle Formation Team, an F4U Corsair Demo, as well as aerobatic pilots Kent Pietsch, Buck Roetman, and Greg Koontz.

Part of the 2022 AirDotShow Live Tour, the Atlanta Air Show is the final destination on a six-show tour. For more information about the AirDotShow Live Tour and the Atlanta Air Show, please visit  https://air.show and https://airshowatlanta.com.
