When Laura Ann Dzwigalski, nee Wilson, walked into a room, it was instantly more joyful, more friendly, and more vibrant. Her bright and beautiful smile was her hallmark. Her friends and family are heartbroken that she passed away on February 14, 2022.

Laura found a family and home in Senoia, Georgia and the surrounding areas where she continually built a better community through many organizations and events, including: Optimist Club of Senoia, the Board of Promise Place, Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, American Business Women’s Association McIntosh Chapter, The Garden Club of Senoia, the Choir of Senoia United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, 100 Who Care, Senoia Area Historical Society, and the Business Women of Fayette and Coweta.

Laura was an award-winning financial advisor with Edward Jones. She loved her clients and they loved her back. Her optimism was unrivaled, so it made sense that she won Optimist of the Year 2013-2014. She was honored for her business acumen and giving heart by the BWFC as Business Woman of the Year 2016. Laura was brilliant, an actual MENSA member.

Laura was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on December 27, 1979. As a child she was already known for her positive attitude and kindness. Laura graduated Klein Oak High School in Spring, Texas in 1997. She went on to complete Bachelor’s (2004) and Master’s (2011) degrees in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, where she is also a Lifetime Alumni Member.

Laura improved the lives of others. She wrapped her arms around friends with comfort, care, and compassion. She was always a leader, a teacher, a mentor, a friend. Laura died unexpectedly and tragically at her own hand. For those who are considering suicide, the family encourages you to reach out to a loved one, a professional, or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255 or text TALK to 741741. You are not alone.

Laura is survived by her parents, Thomas and Patricia Wilson from Brasilito, Costa Rica; her sister Virginia (Robert) Whitestone and their son Cooper from Fairfax, Virginia; her Aunts and Uncles: Carol (John) Longley, Charles Heard, Deborah Wilson, and Douglas (Amy) Wilson; her ex-husband Ryan Dzwigalski; many loving cousins and friends; her dogs George and Casper; and her beloved Goddaughter Grace Wathen of Grass Valley, California.

The family invites you to join us as we celebrate her life at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19 at Senoia United Methodist Church. The family requires all attendees to wear masks.

A Facebook live stream (facebook.com/Senoia.umc) will be available for those who are unable to travel or for anyone who is currently or recently Covid positive or symptomatic.

Arrangements are being made for an endowment managed by Edward Jones to honor Laura’s legacy of positivity and community impact. Please send memories and/or your interest in the endowment to [email protected].

There will be a reception following the memorial service at the Banquet Hall at Alvaton, 24599 GA 85, Gay, GA 30218.
