With the power of teamwork, Kedron Elementary students built simple towers to hold up marshmallows.

For the Marshmallow Tower Challenge, 1st graders completed a STEM activity where they worked together with limited supplies to build a tower capable of holding up the fluffy treat. Using just four straws and tape, they practiced how they could use collaborate communication effectively to reach their goal.

Teacher Kari Winiarczyk loved seeing her class work together.

“It was amazing to see how they really listened to one another as they tested out different ideas. They did a great job letting their creativity and problem solving skills shine as they worked through the challenge with their partner,” said Winiarczyk. “I loved seeing their ending designs, and I really loved observing their great teamwork.”
