Newnan Police Investigating Fatal Shooting on Octavia Place

A 38-year-old Coweta County man died following a late-night shooting on Octavia Place in Newnan, according to Newnan Police Chief Brent Blankenship.

On March 31, 2026, at approximately 11:23 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, officers found Hunter Ross Williams suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Williams was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Despite life-saving efforts, he was later pronounced deceased.

In a video statement and accompanying release, Blankenship said the suspect has not yet been identified and the investigation remains active and ongoing.

No press conference has been scheduled at this time.
