On Saturday, December 13, the streets of downtown Newnan were filled with holiday spirit as families lined up to witness the city’s annual Holiday Parade.
Residents expressed their favorite aspects of the event, particularly the lively atmosphere of downtown. They praised the small shops and local businesses along the parade route, which offered various activities and decorated floats, creating a personalized and community-rooted experience.
This year’s theme, The Nutcracker, set the stage for a delightful and festive morning. The colorful and creative floats were adorned with holiday details that delighted both children and adults. Entertainment was abundant, with bands performing from moving floats, local high school marching bands, and dance troupes delivering energetic performances along the route. The Grinch even made an appearance, much to the crowd’s delight. And of course, Santa Claus concluded the parade on the final float, waving to spectators and bringing the event to a perfect close.
Children were particularly thrilled. Throughout the parade, they received candy, small toys, and light-up Christmas trees. A few floats added extra excitement by releasing bubbles and fake snow, a rare and enjoyable sight in Georgia.
Above all, it was the sense of unity that truly stood out. The parade brought people together, regardless of their holiday celebrations. It captured the warmth, joy, and sense of connection that make this season so special in the Newnan community.
