The Fayette County Marshal’s Office is proud to announce that Deputy Marshal David Colley has recently earned his Marine Patrol Qualification uniform device. This achievement signifies Deputy Marshal Colley’s successful completion of 50 marine patrols on Fayette County’s waterways, demonstrating his experience and proficiency in ensuring compliance with conservation, criminal, and safety laws.

Conducting marine patrols is a vital responsibility of the Fayette County Marshal’s Office, contributing to the safety and well-being of all who utilize the county’s waterways. The agency’s comprehensive Marine Patrol training program is designed to equip marshals with the necessary knowledge and skills. The program begins with 30 hours of academic and hands-on instruction using the department’s two patrol boats. Upon successfully completing this initial training, marshals receive the Golden Anchor uniform device, recognizing their readiness to conduct solo marine patrols.

The Marine Patrol Qualification uniform device, earned by Deputy Marshal Colley, marks a significant milestone, representing the experience gained through 50 completed patrols. This award highlights Deputy Marshal Colley’s dedication and commitment to his duties and to the safety of the Fayette County community.

Deputy Marshal Colley joins Chief Marshal Lem Miller and Sergeant Bryan Clanton as previous recipients of this prestigious qualification.
