As spring gave way to early summer, May marked another milestone month for the Fayette County Chamber (Chamber). Fueled by strong momentum and a clear strategic vision, the Chamber continued to build on its successes while setting the stage for a dynamic summer ahead.

Membership Milestone: Five Months Strong

The Chamber is proud to report its fifth consecutive month of meeting membership acquisition goals. This sustained achievement reflects the growing recognition of the Chamber’s value and its ability to connect, advocate for, and support the Fayette County business community. Each new member adds strength to our collective voice and reinforces our mission to create a thriving local economy.

Legislative Wrap-Up Breakfast Draws Strong Attendance

Civic engagement took center stage in May with the Chamber’s annual Legislative Wrap-Up Breakfast. The event, which brought together elected officials, business leaders, and community members, provided insightful recaps of the 2025 legislative session. Attendees appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from their representatives and engage in meaningful dialogue about the policies shaping Fayette County’s future.

Leadership Fayette: Strong Interest, Stronger Future

The Chamber also saw a robust number of applications for the 2026 class of Leadership Fayette, our flagship leadership development program. The strong response underscores the community’s enthusiasm for cultivating the next generation of leaders. Final selections will be made in June, and the incoming class promises to be one of the most dynamic yet.

Source Magazine Relaunch a Hit

Another highlight of the month was the successful relaunch of Source Magazine. With refreshed content, modern design, and expanded distribution, the new and improved publication serves as a vital storytelling platform for the Chamber and its members. From business success stories to community profiles, Source Magazine showcases the innovation and resilience that define Fayette County.

Strategic Vision: A Plan for the Future

The Chamber’s ongoing development of a comprehensive three-year Strategic Plan continued in May. This roadmap is being carefully crafted with input from members, stakeholders, and community partners to ensure that the Chamber remains focused, adaptable, and impactful in its mission.

Nonprofit Designation for Foundation Secured

In a significant step forward, the Fayette Community & Leadership Foundation—the Chamber’s newly formed 501(c)(3) organization—received its official IRS nonprofit designation. This achievement opens new opportunities for grant funding, partnerships, and community initiatives aligned with leadership development, education, and inclusive economic growth.

Looking Ahead to June

As we move into June, the Chamber’s momentum shows no signs of slowing:

  • Strategic Plan development will continue, with community feedback playing a central role in shaping final priorities.
  • The class of 2026 for Leadership Fayette will be finalized, bringing new energy and talent into the Chamber network.
  • A full slate of programming is on deck, including marquee events like the State of the County address, the annual Cornhole Tournament, and the Inclusive Economics Summit—each designed to inform, engage, and unite the business community.

The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce remains committed to empowering businesses, building leaders, and fostering a vibrant local economy. Thank you to all members, partners, and community champions who make our shared progress possible.
